Stone Circles

What are stone circles?

Stone circles are one of the most attractive and popular types of garden feature you can create with Indian paving slabs, one of the UK’s favourite types of stone paving. Stone circles are known by a couple of different names - you may have heard them variously referred to as patio circles, round patios, circular patio kits, circle paving and garden patio kits. They’re all different names for the same thing!

As well as being ethically sourced and aesthetically pleasing, they’re also highly versatile. This means they can be used to create some quite impressive effects in a wide range of settings and environments, from rustic and traditional areas to more modern and contemporary spaces.

What are they used for?

Stone circles can be used to great effect to become an excellent focal point in themselves, softening the area and helping to create an appealing pattern or feature within your garden patio. It’s a reliable way to spark visual interest in the space as a whole, and add that extra sense of character to the area. If you’re thinking about using stone circles to create a garden feature, you may want to consider edging them with a contrasting colour, which can provide a touch of extra drama. A stone circle can also be used to draw a viewer’s eye to a garden ornament or feature in its centre, such as a striking fountain, or a solitary tree.

Stone circles can also be effectively used for zoning your garden, helping to define it into several distinct sections, each with their own purpose. For example, they can provide the perfect setting for a table and a set of chairs, for a spot of al fresco dining. There’s also an increasing trend of putting stone circles in the corner of a garden, helping to define a secluded spot for you to put your feet up and relax - perhaps with a good book!

And of course, stone circles can be used to mark a ‘stop’ on a winding garden path, or guide an onlooker’s eyes inwards, helping to define the journey through your garden.
